Shorewood Ripples

Shannon Carlson joined Ripples her freshman year, and is now a junior. She has been both a copy editor and A&E editor during her time at Ripples, and her first article was on the new Project Lead the Way class at SIS. Two years ago, she had the opportunity to attend the CSPA journalism conference with the editorial staff, and this past summer, Shannon took a course called Diverse Voices in Journalism at the School of the New York Times. Shannon's hobbies include photography, reading, playing violin, and taking her dog to the dog park. Shannon loves being a part of Ripples for many reasons, some of which are: her fellow editors, being able to hear and tell stories that might otherwise not be told, and the amount of food consumed during layout week.
